Move Beyond Massage
Integrated Bodywork
All bodywork is not created equal. Many students of massage have sought out massage programs at mediocre schools in an attempt to find a quick and easy profession. Shortly after graduation, the knowledge of muscles is lost, and the idea of healing and creating a lasting bond through touch escapes many so-called massage therapists.
Restrictive legislation and close-minded activist and organizations geared towards making a profit off of other peoples skilled trades are popping up left and right. Thousands of people who have been practicing massage for decades, a trade often passed down from one generation to the next, are now forced to go to school to learn new laws and outdated and underdeveloped massage styles.
Our nations obsession with sex, partnered with our fear of sexuality has made us look at all forms of touch in a 'dirty' light. Many in our society now view any exotic or strange application of therapy as vulgar, despite numerous institutes across the world that teach healing through tantra, esalen and other forms af ancient bodywork.
It is time we reevaluate our idea of massage and move beyond the western idea of massage therapy.
My Integrated Bodywork does just that. More involved than a spa massage, yet not at all like your typical massage parlor rub down. Somewhere between Thai, Swedish, Tantra, Esalen, Deep Tissue, Yoga and the Spiritual/Physical connection is where you will find the bodywork that I offer.
